Tag Hunt is a game played outdoors: you look for stickers hidden in real places. This page says what
the game knows about you, why, and what you can do about it. The game is run by Tiro Entertainment, Craiova
(“we”). Write to us at contact@taghunt.site.
What we store
- Your account: email address, hunter name, a protected (hashed) form of your password, the country
you choose to show, and the look of your badge.
- Your play: the treasures you found and hid, when, your gold, achievements, ratings, kudos, logbook
comments, friends, hunt invitations and challenges.
- Your position: the game uses your precise location while it is open, to show the map and to check
that you are standing at a treasure when you claim or hide one. We keep only a rough position (rounded to
about 100 metres) of where you last searched, for up to 30 days, to tell you about new treasures nearby. We
do not record where you walk.
- Mementos: the photo and note you may attach to a find. Only you can see them. Photos are stripped
of their embedded data (such as location) before they are stored.
- Orders: if you order stickers: your name, delivery address and phone number.
- Technical records: server logs with your IP address, kept for a short time to keep the service
running and safe.
Other players see your hunter name, badge, country, gold, rank, achievements and what you write in
logbooks. They never see your email, your position, your mementos or your orders.
Why, and on what basis
- To run the game you signed up for (performance of a contract): your account, your play, your position
while playing, your orders.
- To keep the game fair and safe (our legitimate interest): checks against cheating, reports of
offensive content, short-lived logs.
- To keep records the law requires of sellers (legal obligation): order records.
We do not sell your data, show you advertising or build a profile of you for others.
Who else handles it
- The company hosting our server, which stores the data on our behalf.
- Our email provider, which delivers the messages we send you (codes and order news).
- The courier, which receives your name, address and phone number to deliver an order.
- Stripe, which takes card payments for orders and subscriptions. You enter your card on Stripe's own page;
we never see or store the card number. Stripe receives your email address and what you pay for.
- Map services: the map pictures are loaded by your phone from OpenFreeMap, which therefore sees your IP
address and which part of the map you look at.
- Route and place services: walking routes and the places of Explore mode are asked by our server, not by your
phone, from OpenStreetMap services. They receive the positions involved (where you are and where you are going,
or the rough area you are exploring), never who you are.
How long
For as long as you have an account. When you delete it, your email, name, country, position, friends,
comments, notes and photos are removed at once. Treasures you hid stay in the game without your name, and
other players keep their finds. Order records are kept for the period the law requires. Backups are
overwritten within 30 days.
Your rights
You can see and correct your data in the app, and delete your account under Profile → Settings →
Delete account (see how to delete your account). You may also ask us for a
copy of your data, object to how we use it, or ask us to restrict it, by writing to
contact@taghunt.site. If you live in the European Union you may complain to your data
protection authority; in Romania that is ANSPDCP (dataprotection.ro).
Children
The game is not meant for children under 16 on their own. Younger players should play with a parent,
on the parent's account.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so in the app before it takes effect.
